Finance data recovery, with the record-keeping respected.

When an accounts server dies or a drive packed with client ledgers gives out — frequently at year-end or through tax season — you need it back quickly and held strictly private. Working from Oxford, our finance data recovery serves accountants, advisers and finance departments spanning Oxfordshire and the rest of the UK — in-house, under NDA, with audit-ready paperwork. Your clients' records stay on UK soil throughout.

Preserve the system before restoring anything.

Where financial records are involved, the state of the original matters as much as the data — auditors and regulators may need to see what was there. Image before restoring, and keep the failed media rather than disposing of it.

// what we recover

The systems finance teams depend on.

Accounting platforms, client records and the storage beneath them.

// confidentiality and record-keeping

Handled the way regulated data should be.

The arrangements that matter when the data is not really yours to be casual with.

NDAs are signed as standard rather than on request. Work runs through one named contact, data remains in the UK throughout, and recovered material is returned on fresh media with copies removed after an agreed retention period rather than held indefinitely.

Where a failure may need reporting — a personal-data breach, or an incident an insurer or the FCA will ask about — imaging the affected system read-only preserves the state as it was. That costs nothing extra and protects a position you may not yet know you need. Restoring a backup over the original first destroys it.

// deadlines

Year ends, filings and audits.

Finance work is unusually date-driven, which changes what priority handling is worth.

A failure two weeks before a filing deadline is a different problem from the same failure in a quiet month, and it is worth saying so at the outset. Priority handling moves the job to the front and lets us image the specific directories you need first — a ledger or a client file can be delivered while the rest of the image completes behind it.

What it cannot do is change how long a donor part takes to source or how fast a failing drive can safely be read. Where speed will not materially help, we say so rather than take the premium. Recovery from £500 +VAT for servers and arrays, £300 +VAT for a single drive, after a free 48-hour diagnostic.

// sending your device in

Two easy steps.

Send your device in for a free diagnostic and tell us a bit about what happened — an engineer reviews it and confirms your exact quote in writing before any work begins.

1

Send us your device

Recovering your data starts with getting the device to us. Pack it securely, slip your contact details inside, and send it in — once the free diagnostic is done, we confirm your exact price in writing before any work starts.

How to pack it
  • Box the device up in a small, sturdy carton or a padded envelope.
  • You can leave out caddies, cables and power supplies — none of them are needed for the recovery.
  • Pop your details inside — name, address, phone and email, on a slip of paper or via our shipping form — and seal it up.

// faq

Frequent questions.

Quick answers to what we're asked most.

Yes. Where the underlying storage has failed it is imaged and reconstructed first, then the data files checked for structural consistency rather than simply extracted — a file that is byte-complete can still refuse to open if it was captured mid-write.

Yes. NDAs are signed as standard, work runs through one named contact, data stays in the UK, and recovered material is returned on fresh media with copies removed after an agreed retention period.

It changes the order of work. Imaging the affected system read-only before restoring anything preserves the state as it was, which is what an insurer, auditor or regulator will want to see. Restoring over the original first destroys that.

Yes, and it is worth telling us at the outset. Priority handling moves the job forward and lets us image the specific ledgers or client files you need first, delivering those while the rest completes.

Where you have the recovery key, yes — the drive is imaged read-only first and the volume unlocked from that image rather than from failing hardware. Without the key, no firm can decrypt it, and we will tell you at the diagnostic.
