Crypto recovery is storage work, not codebreaking.

Nobody extracts private keys from a hardware wallet doing its job — resisting exactly that is the product. What is genuinely recoverable is everything around it: wallet files and keystores on drives that have failed, and seed phrases that were photographed, typed or exported and then lost with the device holding them.

Never send anyone your seed phrase.

Legitimate recovery is performed on your storage media, never on your seed. Anyone asking you to type or send the recovery phrase — including to “verify ownership” — is attempting theft. We never need it and never ask for it.

// how access is lost

Almost always storage, rarely cryptography.

The overwhelming majority of crypto losses are ordinary data losses that happen to involve currency.

// what we can and cannot do

The honest line, drawn clearly.

This field attracts a great deal of misleading marketing, so it is worth being explicit.

We can recover failed storage and extract wallet files, keystores, exported keys and screenshotted or typed seed phrases — including deleted copies still present in unallocated space, which people are often unaware they ever made. That is conventional recovery work applied to a valuable target.

We cannot extract keys from a working hardware wallet. A Ledger, Trezor or similar keeps the private key inside a secure element built specifically to resist physical extraction, and if the device is gone and you do not have the seed, the funds are unreachable. That is the security model functioning correctly, not a gap a specialist closes. We also do not crack forgotten passphrases or take a percentage of anything.

// how the recovery runs

Storage work, with signature carving.

Technically ordinary, with one useful specialisation.

01

Image the media read-only

The drive, card or stick is cloned before anything else, so the original is never written to.

02

Rebuild the file system

Where possible, so files come back with names and folder structure — which matters when you are looking for something specific.

03

Carve wallet structures by signature

Wallet files have recognisable formats, so a wallet.dat or keystore can be extracted from unallocated space even when the file system is gone.

04

Search for phrase artefacts

Screenshots, text files, notes and old exports that may hold a seed phrase, including deleted ones.

05

Return the files, and nothing else

You receive the recovered data. Nothing leaves with it and we retain no copy beyond the agreed period.

// pricing

Ordinary rates, no percentage.

Because this is storage work, it is priced as storage work.

A single drive is from £300 +VAT and a USB stick or memory card from £250 +VAT, after a free 48-hour diagnostic and a written quote. Most jobs are no fix, no fee.

We do not take a share of recovered funds, and we would treat any firm proposing to with real caution — it creates an incentive to overstate what is achievable. Send the media; never the seed phrase.

// getting it to us

Two easy steps.

Send the device in for its free diagnostic and tell us briefly what happened; an engineer reviews it and confirms your exact quote in writing before anything starts.

1

Send us your device

Getting your data back begins with getting the device to us. Pack it up safely, pop your contact details inside, and send it over — once we’ve run the free diagnostic, we’ll confirm your exact price in writing before any work starts.

How to pack it
  • Box the device up in a small, sturdy carton or a padded envelope.
  • You can leave out caddies, cables and power supplies — none of them are needed for the recovery.
  • Pop your details inside — name, address, phone and email, on a slip of paper or via our shipping form — and seal it up.

Posting it? A tracked, insured service is what we’d recommend. Rather drop it in? You’re welcome Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm — just package the device up as above first.

// questions

Wallet recovery — your questions.

What people most often ask about cryptocurrency wallet recovery.

No, and any firm claiming otherwise should be treated with suspicion. Ledger, Trezor and similar keep the private key in a secure element designed to resist physical extraction. Without the seed phrase the funds are unreachable — that is the security model working.

Usually, yes — that is ordinary data recovery. The drive is imaged read-only and the file system rebuilt, and wallet files can be carved by signature even where the file system is gone, including deleted copies the owner had forgotten making.

Sometimes, if it ever existed digitally. Screenshots of recovery sheets, typed notes and old exports are recoverable from failed media by normal means. If it only ever existed on paper now lost, there is no technical route.

Never, under any circumstances. Legitimate work is done on your storage media, not on your seed. Anyone asking for the phrase itself — including to verify ownership — is attempting theft.

No. We charge standard recovery rates regardless of what the wallet holds. A percentage model creates an incentive to overstate what is achievable, which is why we would be cautious of firms offering it.

From £300 plus VAT for a drive and £250 plus VAT for a USB stick or card, after a free 48-hour diagnostic. Standard rates, because it is storage work.
